Derya Yanık: “We have started a new project to strengthen our social service models for children”


Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, has stated that a new project has been put into practice in which social service models will be revised and special monitoring systems will be created in order to care for and protect children, prevent child labour and early forced marriages. Indicating that cooperation with non-governmental organizations will be developed, Yanık has noted that it is aimed to increase the accessibility of child care services and to link these services to a common standard.

Derya Yanık, Minister of Family and Social Services, has stated that the "Project for Supporting Children's Rights in Turkey", which will be carried out jointly with the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, and which will revise social services for children, has been put into practice.

Emphasizing that the project aims to develop child care and protection services, prevent child labour and early forced marriages, identify vulnerable children, develop services for their rehabilitation and care, Yanık has noted that coordination with non-governmental organizations will be increased.

Yanık has explained that in this direction, efforts will be made to increase social awareness on child labour, early forced marriages and child protection, and that materials and public service announcements will be prepared to raise awareness.
