Turkish Sign Language Science and Approval Board Convened


On 24.06.2020, the Turkish Sign Language Science and Approval Board (TİDBO) was convened on 24.06.2020 in coordination with the General Directorate of Disability and Elderly Services at the Sogutözü campus of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services.

To the board meeting; Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, Disability and Elderly Services General Manager Exp. Dr. Orhan KOÇ, Deputy General Manager Faik YILDIRIM, Department Head Hulusi Armağan YILDIRIM, Department Head Esat TEKTAŞ from the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of National Education, Dr. Yeliz ÇELEN from Ankara University, Dr. Bahtiyar MAKAROĞLU from Ankara University, Lecturer Hasan DİKYUVA from KOÇ University, Turkish Deaf national federation Vice President Bülent TEKİN and Turkish Sign Language Sign Officer Burcu PİŞKİN board member.

At the meeting; Studies on Turkish sign language and sign language interpreting, the issue of assigning Turkish sign language interpreters to the staff, questions and suggestions about Turkish sign language proficiency exams have been raised.

Turkish Sign Language Science and Approval Board (TİDBO), which is an important step in the name of the work for sign language studies, determination of the proficiency of interpreters, is an extremely important development in the point of receiving services from qualified interpreters for hearing-impaired individuals. The board ended by making decisions for sign language studies.
