Minister of Family and Social Services Göktaş: "The Ministry is conducting the placement of 2.392 more persons with disabilities in the public institutions on Monday"

Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş said, "The Ministry is conducting the placement of 2.392 more persons with disabilities in the public institutions on Monday. Thus, the number of public personnel with disabilities will have increased by 12 times in the last 21 years equaling to 68.396."

Minister Göktaş met with students who scored full points in LGS at an event organized by the Governorship of Istanbul.

Göktaş started her speech by expressing her pleasure to come together with the "brightest young people" of the country and said, "I appreciate all the young people dreaming at an early age, setting goals and striving to achieve the goals.

Stating that everyone had subjects of interest at a young age and that talents were realized over time, Göktaş continued as follows:

"Believing and working is what bridges the gap between interests, talents and a profession. It is an unknown equation, believing and working. A poet says, 'Far if you look, close if you walk'. You are one step closer to your dreams now. The enthusiasm you feel right now will grow even more when you reach your next goal. Having a profession, you will start fulfilling your dreams in the same way that marathon runners do when reaching for the trophy. You will find that even things that you consider unattainable can be reached over time."

Asking young people not to give up even when tired and discouraged, Göktaş said, "Sometimes you may think, 'I had to battle with unnecessary difficulties'. However, every challenge comes with its own gift, and there is always a solution within the complex paths."

"We have full confidence in you"

Defining the students as the persons managing to learn new information at every moment of life, Göktaş said, "That is why the educational process is an opportunity in all aspects, individually with schools, friends, teachers, books, games, trips, art, sports and volunteer activities. I sincerely believe that you will take advantage of all these opportunities in the most beautiful way."

Minister Göktaş advised young people to keep their curiosity alive at all times and emphasized that the biggest motivation for learning was curiosity.

Describing young people as the architect of the future, the protector of culture and values, Göktaş continued her words as follows:

"We will pass on to you everything that is left to us from our elders. Every one of the young persons of the country is shining like the sun. From medicine to engineering, from law to politics, from art to commerce, they make us all proud by achieving great accomplishments in every field. TEKNOFEST is overflowing with the work of young inventors. All over the world, the athletes of the country are making us sing our National Anthem with gold medals on their chests, waving our flag at the highest heights. In short, we have full confidence in you. No matter what profession you choose, success is always with you as long as you honestly move towards your goal and do your job sincerely. We are also by your side in everything you need throughout your educational life."

At the end of her speech, Minister Göktaş said, "I would like to share some good news."

"We are conducting the placement of 2.392 more persons with disabilities in the public institutions on Monday. Thus, the number of public personnel with disabilities will have increased by 12 times in the last 21 years equaling to 68.396. We aim to ensure that persons with disabilities have equal rights and opportunities with everyone else in the country with the placement made and the services carried out by the Ministry. I wish that these placements, which will facilitate the integration of persons with disabilities with society and support their more active and independent participation in life, will be blissful for all of us."
