Kocaeli Çayırova Barrier-Free Day Care Centre Project Comes to Life


Mayor of Kocaeli Çayırova Bünyamin ÇİFTÇİ, visited General Director of Services for Persons with Disabilities and Elderly, Spc. Dr. Orhan Koç to present the Çayırova Barrier-Free Day Care Centre Project.

Çayırova Mayor Bünyamin ÇİFTÇİ, who presented the Çayırova Barrier-Free Day Care Centre Project to be realized by Çayırova Municipality, stated that the centre will perform an important service in the district with a population of 140 thousand 274. In addition to the development of the self-care needs and skills of individuals with disabilities, with the Çayırova Barrier-Free Day Care Centre Project, which is designed to carry out educational, social, cultural, sports activities and activities in order to ensure their participation in social life, and daytime services to be provided by the municipality, it is aimed to increase the quality of life by contributing to their development through educational, vocational and leisure activities.

Mayor of Çayırova Bünyamin ÇİFTÇİ, stating that they continue to work on the realization of the centre, said that they expect the guidance, cooperation and support of the General Directorate of Services for the Persons with Disabilities and Elderly of the Ministry of Family and Social Services for the implementation of the project.

Barrier-Free Day Care Centres Allow Families with Persons with Disabilities to Participate in Social Life and Take Time for Themselves

Examining the project, General Director of Services for Persons with Disabilities and Elderly, Spc. Dr. Orhan Koç underlined the importance of daytime services by emphasizing that the daytime barrier-free living centres enable both the participation of the persons with disabilities in social life and the mothers and families who take the responsibility of care for the individuals with disabilities, to relax and spare time for themselves.

Stating that as the General Directorate of Services for the Persons with Disabilities and Elderly, they provide day care, rehabilitation and family counselling centre application throughout the country, they provide day care services to the persons with disabilities in 128 centres, 104 of which are within the body of official care centres and 24 independent centres, Dr. Orhan KOÇ said that they aim to expand daytime services to be opened in 81 provinces, and that the project prepared by the municipality in this framework is a remarkable exemplary project and they are ready to cooperate with the Municipality in the implementation of the project.
