“Accessibility” Themed Competition with the Aim of Raising Accessibility Awareness of Children and Young People


The Ministry of Family and Social Services will organize award-winning competitions with the theme of “Accessibility” for primary, secondary and high school students with the aim of raising the awareness that accessibility is a fundamental right, creating a culture of accessibility in our country, and raising awareness of school-age children and young people on the subject.
"Accessibility Themed Competitions" are organized by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, General Directorate of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly, for children and young people with the aim of creating an accessibility culture in our country.
In the competitions, it is aimed to bring accessibility to the agenda of children and young people, to build accessible cities with the works they will prepare for the competition, to contribute to the development of technologies, and to support the "Accessible Türkiye, Barrier-Free Life" by participating in the competition.
Applications will start today
Applications for the competition, in which public and private school students can participate, will start today and will end on April 25, 2022. In the competition, the categories were determined as "poetry" for primary school students, "painting" for secondary school students, and "short film" for high school students.
Primary School 2. 3. and 4th grade students will be able to participate in the competition with their poems they prepared with free technique, secondary school students with their pictures on the issue of accessibility, and high school students with a short film they prepared individually or as a group for a minimum of 1 minute and a maximum of 3 minutes. Short films shot in Turkish Sign Language will also be accepted to the competition. Students will submit their works to the school administration.
Each school will be represented with one work in the competition. For this reason, the school administration will apply for the selected work by following the necessary steps from the Ministry's competition application page https://erisilirlik.aile.gov.tr/ until 9 May 2022. The works selected to represent the school in the painting category can also be delivered to the Ministry of Family and Social Services, General Directorate of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly, by hand or by mail.
Prizes will be given to the top 3 finishers.
Works participating in the competition will be examined by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, General Directorate of Services for Persons with Disabilities and the Elderly and General Directorate of Child Services, the Ministry of National Education, representatives from public institutions and confederations providing services for persons with disabilities, and evaluation boards formed for each category of academics.
As a result of the evaluation, the first prize will be awarded 6,000 TL, the second 4,000 TL, and the third 2,000 TL in each category.
